Abbe Museum Dawnland Festival

About

Held in July on the College of the Atlantic campus in Bar Harbor, the Abbe Museum's Dawnland Festival of Arts & Ideas centers Wabanaki and Native thought leadership through panels, performances, and a Northeastern Native arts market. This year's festival collaborates with the Smithsonian Center for Folklife and Cultural Heritage — the only New England-based festival participating in the 2026 Of the People initiative. Expect Indigenous-led programming grounded in Wabanaki voices, perspectives, and shared authority.
