About

Held each September in downtown Clarksburg, the West Virginia Black Heritage Festival attracts people from all across the state. Founded in 1990 as an Emancipation Proclamation Celebration on E.B. Saunders Way, the festival has grown from 10–12 vendors to approximately 50 today. The festival features live music, cultural performances, community celebration, vendors, food, entertainment, and family experiences in Downtown Clarksburg. The festival supplies 110 volts of electricity, and food vendors must adhere to Harrison County Food Handlers Regulations.
