In its 11th season, Canal Market District Farmers Market runs Friday evenings May–October at the outdoor pavilion in downtown Newark. Vendors praise the market's community-driven culture — shoppers return weekly specifically for the local makers, bakers, and growers. The Friday evening timing draws both weekday workers and intentional local-food shoppers. Art & Crafts markets (producer-only, handmade goods like jewelry, home decor, bath and body) are held separately at the Historic Arcade in spring, summer, and fall. Winter farmers market operates indoors November–April at the same Arcade location, though vendor space is currently full.
