Cochon de Lait Festival

Mansura, Louisiana

About

The Mansura Chamber of Commerce presents the Cochon de Lait Festival, held annually on the second full weekend in May in Mansura, Louisiana. Mansura is the Cochon de Lait capital of the world. The first official festival was in 1961, but the tradition began in 1960 during Mansura's Centennial when over 10,000 people converged on the town. After celebrating for 12 years and drawing a record crowd of 100,000 in 1972, Mansura paused the festival—until 1987, when it was revived. The festival features food and craft vendors, live music all weekend, and family-friendly activities. Food, arts & crafts vendors, and live music highlight the weekend.
