Festival
Feast of the Hunters' Moon
West Lafayette, Indiana
About
The 59th Feast of the Hunters' Moon is a historic reenactment held each October on the banks of the Wabash River near West Lafayette, recreating the annual fall gathering of French and Native Americans at Fort Ouiatenon, a mid-1700s fur-trading outpost. Thousands of participants, five stages of continuous free programming, and hands-on activities (candle-dipping, axe throwing, costume try-on, beadwork) draw a strong crowd. Vendors operate as sutlers and traders within the historical setting.
