Held in White Sulphur Springs each September at the White Sulphur Springs National Fish Hatchery, the 20th annual Freshwater Folk Festival is a free day of live music, food, and hands-on nature education built around freshwater conservation and local Appalachian culture. Expect educational exhibits and demonstrations from the US Fish & Wildlife Service, Hanging Rock Raptor Observatory, Project Healing Waters, Roy Moose with Snakes of West Virginia, and regional naturalists and artists—plus food trucks, artisan vendors, and live animals. Audience skews family-oriented and education-minded.
