Goschenhoppen Folk Festival

Perkiomenville, Pennsylvania

About

In its 58th year, Goschenhoppen Folk Festival celebrates authentic Pennsylvania German folklife from the 18th and 19th centuries in Perkiomenville. Costumed craftspeople demonstrate traditional skills — ropemaking, tinsmithing, blacksmithing, coopering, hearth cooking, and more — while vendors serve traditional refreshments like fastnachts, shoofly pie, and homemade root beer. The festival also features wagon rides, tours of the restored Henry Antes House (a national historic landmark), Pennsylvania Dutch dialect singing, and stage programming. Sponsored by the Goschenhoppen Historians, a nonprofit dedicated to preserving the folk culture of the region's Mennonite, Catholic, Lutheran, Schwenkfelder, German Reformed, and Dunkard communities.
