Great Lenexa BBQ Battle

About

Running since 1984, the Great Lenexa BBQ Battle is Kansas' official state barbecue championship, drawing 150–200 teams competing for the Grand Champion title. Friday night is the draw for the public—live music, kids activities, food vendors, and a festival-style atmosphere as teams host private parties throughout the park. Saturday is competition and judging. New in 2026: free BBQ samples from five featured locations on Friday while supplies last.
