Historic Shaw Art Fair

About

Held each October in St. Louis' Historic Shaw neighborhood, this juried fine-art and craft fair draws over 7,000 visitors and roughly 120 artists. Setup is on grass in a tree-lined park on Flora Place — booths face outward onto closed streets with generous spacing between artists, so the feel is relaxed rather than packed. The jury (three art professionals) scores work on artistic merit alone; accepted artists must be present during fair hours and display only original work, though non-original reproductions may constitute up to 25% of inventory. No electricity provided — bring low-voltage lighting. Uneven ground means adjustable stands or shims are recommended. The fair coincides with the Best of Missouri Market at the nearby Missouri Botanical Garden.
