Hitching Lot Farmers' Market
Columbus, Mississippi
About
Established in 1976, the Hitching Lot Farmers' Market has long served as a cornerstone of Columbus' local food movement, and this is the 50th year of the Hitching Lot Farmers' Market. Operated through a partnership between the City of Columbus and Main Street Columbus and overseen by an advisory committee of faithful volunteers, the Hitching Lot Farmers' Market provides our community and visitors with locally grown, seasonal produce, baked goods and local crafts. The market usually hosts about 28 different vendors, running in downtown Columbus each May through October, with Tuesdays from 4 to 6 p.m. and Saturdays from 7 to 10 a.m., with Saturday-only hours in September and October. Throughout the season, visitors can enjoy special events and themed market days designed to engage families and highlight local talent, including live music, educational opportunities and interactive activities.
