Kaua'i Mokihana Festival Craft Fair

Lihue, Hawaii

About

Held each late September in Lihue, the Kauaʻi Mokihana Festival is a weeklong gathering running hula competitions, a Hawaiian-language composers contest, lectures, hula and lei-making workshops, and a juried craft fair. The Mālie Foundation has carried the event for decades — origins in the mid-1980s. The craft fair and most lectures and workshops are free. Vendor mix includes clothing, jewelry, blankets, and food and drinks — a Hawaii cultural event that draws shoppers looking to support island makers.
