LeClaire Tug Fest (Great River Tug Fest)

Running since 1987, TugFest is a three-day August festival in LeClaire drawing over 35,000 people for a carnival spanning three city blocks along the Mississippi River, a Grand Parade, fireworks shot from a barge, and the signature tug-of-war competition — 20-member teams pulling 2,700 feet of rope across the mighty Mississippi between LeClaire and Port Byron, Illinois. Food vendors, live music, and a beer tent round out the vendor mix.
