Louisiana Smoked Meat Festival

Running since 1993, Louisiana Smoked Meat Festival is held in Ville Platte, the "Smoked Meat Capital of the World," at the Civic Center. A two-day celebration hosted by a nonprofit that honors military veterans and donates proceeds to area veterans' associations. Saturday opens with a ceremony honoring all military at noon, followed by a World Championship Smoked Meat Cook-Off. Expect live music, food vendors, and craft/arts booths alongside the competition.
