Maple Syrup Festival

About

Running its 40th annual, Pickens' West Virginia Maple Syrup Festival draws nearly 2,000 visitors to a town with fewer than 50 residents. Held each March on the third full weekend, the festival celebrates local maple-sugar tradition with 60+ craft vendors and food trucks. All maple syrup is West Virginia-made, mostly from the Pickens area. Activities include pancake and buckwheat-cake feeds with locally made syrup, sugar-camp tours, wood chopping, photography exhibits, and live entertainment.
