Held in Alpena at the Alpena Marina and Thunder Bay waterfront, the 52nd annual Michigan Brown Trout Festival is a 10-day event running in late July that blends fishing tournaments with live music, food trucks, and vendor activity. The first weekend coincides with Art on the Bay, Alpena's largest art fair, which fills nearby Bay View Park with artisan-made products and handmade goods. Running since 1975, it's the longest-running fishing tournament in the Great Lakes—draws a strong tournament crowd alongside casual visitors looking for live entertainment and food.
