Monona County Fair

Onawa, Iowa

About

Running since 1905, Monona County Fair is a six-day fair held in July at Monona County Fairgrounds in Onawa, Iowa. Organized by the Monona County Fair Association, the fair features a tractor pull, talent show, and several livestock shows. Grandstand events are a classic part of the fair. The Open Class accepts entries with no entry fees across agriculture, canning, flowers, fine arts, textiles and fancy work, and culinary categories. Organizers celebrated the opening of a new grandstand in 2026—a restoration effort following more than 100 years of tradition.
