Mountain State Forest Festival

About

The 88th Mountain State Forest Festival runs in early autumn in Elkins and draws 75,000+ visitors each year to celebrate West Virginia's forest heritage, natural resources, and mountain culture. The festival lineup spans a 10K/5K race, Highland Dance Competition, Irish Road Bowling, Lumberjack Contest, Grand Feature Parade, Juried Art Exhibit, Quilt Show, and Arts & Crafts vendors. Randolph County and the City of Elkins open their streets to accommodate the crowd — solid foot traffic for a heritage festival with deep regional roots.
