National Buffalo Wing Festival

Buffalo, New York

About

Held at Sahlen Field in Buffalo, the National Buffalo Wing Festival was inaugurated in 2002 and runs in its 25th year in late August. The two-day festival features about 25 different wing vendors, with the event averaging 50,000 attendees per year in the last decade. Vendors serve unique regional takes on Buffalo's classic wing—from Carolina barbecue with vinegar tang to southwestern Arizona style, lemon pepper, and garlic parmesan. Programming includes live music on three stages, wing eating championships, a mullet contest, and carnival games. Proceeds go to local charities.
