About
Held the second weekend of October atop Lookout Mountain between Trenton and LaFayette, Georgia, New Salem Mountain Festival is an established October tradition. Approximately 100 talented artists and craftsmen participate, displaying pottery, paintings, furniture, wood turning, wood carving, stained glass, jewelry, candles, iron works, wreaths, baskets, leather, purses, quilts, throws, handmade soaps, dog accessories, scarves, needlework, clothing and accessories, fabrics, chimes, jellies, condiments and much more. The festival is a popular seasonal event attended by thousands of visitors each year. The festival is a way to preserve Appalachian heritage while supporting local artisans and nonprofits. No alcohol, drugs, or pets allowed.
