North Georgia Folk Festival

About

Held in Athens at Sandy Creek Park on the second Saturday of October, the North Georgia Folk Festival is produced by volunteers from the Athens Folk Music and Dance Society in partnership with Athens-Clarke County Leisure Services. The event attracts demonstrators, artisan vendors working in pottery, jewelry, textiles, glass, metalwork, folk painting, and handmade goods, alongside food trucks featuring diverse cuisines. The festival draws around 1,000 attendees with roughly 25 exhibitors, and is juried. Features live acoustic music on multiple stages, a jam tent for old-time musicians, supervised kids' arts and crafts, and a dinosaur playground.
