NY State Sheep & Wool Festival

About

Held at the Dutchess County Fairgrounds in Rhinebeck since 1980, the NY State Sheep and Wool Festival draws approximately 30,000 visitors and more than 300 vendors. The two-day October event features workshops on weaving, knitting, and basket-making, along with over 300 wool and fiber arts vendors selling materials, tools, and more, plus a winery, distillery, and gourmet specialty foods building. Alongside vendors, the festival features livestock competitions, sheepdog trials, and a sheep to shawl contest. Vendor selection is competitive; vendors must provide certification of insurance and a NY State Sales Tax Certificate.
