In March, Penn Cove Musselfest celebrates 40 years of mussel magic on Coupeville's historic waterfront. Hosted by the Coupeville Historic Waterfront Association, the festival fills the weekend with chef demos, the Mussel Tussle cooking competition, family activities, children's crafts, live music, artisan vendors, and waterfront beer garden experiences. The Chowder Tasting invites attendees to sample mussel chowders from nine local restaurants; guests vote for their favorite, making it both a tasting and a friendly culinary competition. Mussel Farm Boat Tours offer behind-the-scenes looks at sustainable shellfish farming. The festival is dog-friendly, weather-flexible, and designed to be explored at a relaxed pace, with shuttles and parking support available.
