Prickly Pear Festival

Superior, Arizona

About

Held each August in downtown Superior, the Prickly Pear Festival is designed to educate on the diverse Edible Desert, sustainability, organics, homeopathic practices, and local artisans. The 14th annual (as of 2025) explores indigenous knowledge, sustainability, and community collaboration. The Farm to Fantastic Local Growers' Market operates inside the Senior Center, with food trucks and vendors on Main Street. Guest speakers lead sessions throughout the day on food education, foraging, plant medicine, and regenerative design. Programming includes art, food, music, demos, foraging, cook-offs, and special entertainment. Audience skews toward shoppers intentionally seeking local, sustainable, and indigenous food systems—a committed crowd for quality makers.
