Tater Day

Benton, Kentucky

About

Held each April in Benton since 1843, Tater Day is the oldest continuous trade day in the United States—a nearly two-century tradition born when farmers and traders gathered to swap sweet potato slips and farm goods. The multi-day event centers on a vendor fair and flea market near the court square, featuring local and regional trade vendors, food vendors, and craft makers, plus carnival rides, a demolition derby, dog show, live music, and the region's largest parade. Expect an established crowd and established foot traffic.
