Held on Main Street in downtown Joplin every third Thursday, March through October, Third Thursday draws 5,000–8,000 people for an evening of local artisans, food vendors, live music across multiple performance stages, and retail. The event has run since 2008 and operates rain or shine. Vendors provide their own tables and materials; electrical boxes are available but not guaranteed. All sellers must purchase a $5 City Special Event License per event and handle their own sales tax registration with Missouri. Food vendors face health inspection requirements and must have appropriate fire safety equipment if using fryers.
