Tularosa Rose Festival

About

Held in Tularosa in early May, the Tularosa Rose Festival is a community-revived springtime celebration returning after an extended hiatus. Expect live music, arts and crafts vendors, food vendors, and the Old-Timers' Picnic — a time-honored gathering that draws generations of residents together. The festival also features the Rose Queen pageant, a decades-old tradition central to the event's identity. The village, nestled at the foot of the Sacramento Mountains, takes its name from the rose-colored reeds that once lined the Rio Tularosa — a connection to roses that runs back to its 1863 founding.
