Union Fair & Maine Wild Blueberry Festival

About

Held annually in Union, the Union Fair & Maine Wild Blueberry Festival is one of Maine's oldest agricultural fairs, running since 1869. It combines a traditional harvest fair with the State of Maine Wild Blueberry Festival (added in 1959) — expect cattle barns, livestock competitions, 4-H shows, agricultural exhibits, local crafts, garden produce displays, pulling events, demonstrations, live entertainment, and wild blueberry-themed baking contests. Unlike larger commercial fairs, Union Fair retains deep agricultural roots and is run largely by volunteers with strong ties to surrounding farming communities.
