Vermont State Fair

Rutland, Vermont

About

One of the oldest state fairs in the United States, running since 1846, held in Rutland in August each year. The fair books space for crafts and products, commercial vendors, specialty food vendors, interactive games, and educational exhibits both indoors and outdoors. Features 4-H/FFA shows and exhibits, livestock shows, professional rodeo, motorsports show, entertainment, concerts, carnival rides, demolition derby, and food vendors. Vendors must comply with state regulations and pay 1% rooms, meals, goods sales tax, and entertainment tax to the City of Rutland — failure to pay means the city won't issue an operating license. The fair enforces a smoke-free policy with smoking prohibited except in designated areas, and tobacco/tobacco products cannot be sold. Fees: There are numerous options priced per square frontage footage—Price below is the max.
