About

Running since 1972, Walnut Valley Festival in Winfield is an acoustic music festival where bluegrass dominates but a wide variety of other acoustic styles are represented. Named the International Bluegrass Music Association's first "Bluegrass Event of the Year", the festival draws around 15,000 attendees to the Winfield Fairgrounds each September. The Walnut Valley Crafts Fair runs each year in conjunction with the festival, offering a juried marketplace for fine jewelry, painting, pottery, leatherwork, carving, clothing, photography, and other original work. More than 100 displays come from artisans across 20+ states. The fairgrounds provide multiple venues—open pavilions, covered grandstands, and enclosed buildings —with electricity included. Food vendors rotate annually with offerings from pizza to BBQ. Established audience of music lovers actively shopping for local crafts.
