Running since 2009, Toonfest in Marceline celebrates American cartooning in Walt Disney's boyhood hometown. Each September, the event features seminars from the world's leading cartoonists, a parade, art show, and entertainment honoring Walt Disney's legacy. Guest cartoonists give presentations, serve as grand marshals in the Main Street parade, and participate in an international cartoon art show. Family-friendly atmosphere required— merchandise must be suitable in theme and type, with no profane, vulgar, offensive, or political message items.
