Wayne Chicken Show

About

The Wayne Chicken Show is a free summer weekend celebration in downtown Wayne, Nebraska, running since 1981, with the 2026 show on July 10–11. The weekend includes a downtown parade, the Cluck-Off, egg drop and egg-eating contests, a cement chicken auction, local entertainment, and Henoween, a Friday night street festival that opens the celebration. The Kirk Sommerfeld Memorial Crowing Motors Car Show runs Friday evening on Main Street. Food and craft/handmade vendors are both welcome, and the show draws hundreds of visitors from across the US and abroad.
