West Virginia State Folk Festival

About

Held each June in Glenville, West Virginia State Folk Festival celebrates Appalachian pioneer life through old-time music—banjo and fiddle contests, jam sessions, gospel singing—alongside antique cars, quilt shows, and regional arts and crafts. The festival draws vendors for food (including the famous Gilmer County FFA strawberry shortcake), baked goods, and handmade goods. Established as a preservation effort honoring West Virginia's heritage and traditions.
