Madera's fairgrounds carry its calendar: the Madera District Fair each September, running since 1937, and the Pomegranate, Fruit & Nut Festival on the first Saturday of November, celebrating the county's crops. Rounding out its 6 events: a Wednesday-and-Sunday flea market off Highway 99 year-round and Thursday farmers markets, one of them at Tesoro Viejo all year.

Madera Flea Market
FleaLong-running flea market just off Highway 99 at Cleveland Ave in the city of Madera. Vendors begin setting up at 5:30am. New monthly reservations are taken in the first week of every month, first come first served, from maps viewable at the office; main-aisle spaces go to an annual silent-bid auction with a one-year contract. A Madera seller's permit, insurance and current ID are required to reserve a space, and food or beverage sellers must clear the county environmental health department.
Madera Pomegranate, Fruit & Nut Festival
FestivalAnnual harvest festival at the Madera District Fairgrounds organized by the Madera Tourism Alliance, a committee of the Madera Chamber of Commerce, celebrating the county's pomegranate, fruit and nut crops. More than 90 arts and crafts vendors alongside chef-led cooking demonstrations, a classic car show, a comic con, live entertainment and a kids' zone. Admission and parking are free. Note: the festival's own site has not been updated since the 2021 edition; the City of Madera events page confirms the festival as a current annual event.
