Craft Fairs & Farmers Markets in Alexandria, Louisiana

Set on the banks of the Red River in Downtown Alexandria, Alex River Fête draws Louisianans and out-of-state visitors for a three-day celebration of Central Louisiana arts, culture, and heritage. Expect craft displays and sales, food vendors, live music across two stages, street performers, and children's activities. The festival kicks off Thursday evening and runs through Saturday, with free admission and parking.

Held each December in downtown Alexandria, Alex Winter Fête draws hundreds of vendors across multiple blocks offering Louisiana cuisine, handmade crafts, and seasonal treats. Food vendors feature Cajun staples (gumbo, jambalaya, etouffee), fair foods, Southern classics, and Louisiana-made desserts alongside spiced cider and custom hot chocolate. Craft booths showcase jewelry, candles, metal art, paintings, wooden ornaments, and custom home décor — many vendors offer on-the-spot personalization. Booths are outdoors (mostly tent-covered) with designated seating throughout the festival.

Held in Alexandria every Tuesday, the Alexandria Farmers Market connects local shoppers with farmers, ranchers, and agricultural artisans of Central Louisiana. Around 17 vendors per market offer produce, with an average of 7 farmers year-round. The market operates a SNAP Match program (dollar-for-dollar matching) and runs a Community Produce Table specifically for home gardeners and beginning farmers looking to sell produce on consignment. Kids Club offers children $5 to shop for fresh fruits and vegetables each visit. Part of Louisiana Central's regional network supporting food access across Central Louisiana.
