Covington Three Rivers Art Festival
FestivalThe 30th annual Covington Three Rivers Art Festival is one of the largest juried art festivals in the region, held in downtown Covington in November. Over 200 artist tents line both sides of Columbia Street from the 200 Block to the 600 Block, with original artworks in paintings and drawings, photography, ceramics, sculptures, functional pottery, fine jewelry, handmade clothing and accessories, and more. The festival draws more than 60,000 people annually to shop the work of talented artists from all over the United States —a sophisticated, knowledgeable buying public from the Greater New Orleans area, South Louisiana and the Gulf Coast. Artists' awards are presented Saturday night featuring live music starting at 7:30 p.m.
St. Tammany Parish Fair
FairFounded in 1910, St. Tammany Parish Fair is held in Covington each October at the parish fairgrounds. The focus remains on community, featuring 16 fair pageants, a Rodeo Queen Contest, Kids Day, Gospel Night, Parade, Opening Ceremony, Cheer/Dance Competition, Rodeo, Livestock competitions, Exhibits, entertainment and carnival rides. Featured attractions include live music, livestock shows, horticultural exhibits and fair food. The Fair Association gives back approximately $25,000 annually to schools for exhibit entries and scholarships.
