Silver City's art calendar runs from the weeklong CLAY Festival in June to the Red Dot Studio Tour over Labor Day weekend and the Southwest Print Fiesta's Printers' Market in October. Silver City CLAY Festival
FestivalHeld in Silver City each June, the weeklong CLAY Festival brings together ceramics artists, educators, and makers for workshops, juried and solo exhibitions, and artist talks. The festival centers three concurrent exhibitions—the juried show Convergence, a three-person show featuring the festival's headlining artists, and a featured artist exhibit—all at Light Art Space and partner galleries downtown. Workshops span five days and cover ceramic fundamentals, natural plasters, pigment hunting, and hand-building; introductory experience recommended for most. The CLAYFest Market gives clay artists and vendors a venue to sell work directly to festival attendees.
