Alderson's 65th Annual 4th of July Celebration runs for nine days from late June through early July in this historic West Virginia town. The festival features a grand parade with floats, queens, horses, fire engines, and more—plus a firemen's rodeo, 5K run, kids' fishing derby, horse show, poker run, youth bicycle races, live entertainment, and a scavenger hunt. Held in Alderson the Saturday before Memorial Day, this free festival splits action between Sunset Berry Farm and downtown's Alderson Memorial Bridge. At the farm: pick-your-own strawberries, West Virginia craft vendors, food trucks, bounce pad, zipline, working excavators, fairy garden scavenger hunt, and evening live music (typically hard-rock band GRIT). Bridge area draws additional vendors, food, and music throughout the day. Running 10+ years as a partnership between the town, Alderson Main Street, and Sunset Berry Farm.
