Craft Fairs & Farmers Markets in Soldotna, Alaska
Soldotna's summer runs on two farmers markets — the Wednesday Market in Soldotna Creek Park from June through August and the long-running Saturday market on Corral Avenue — with Progress Days filling the fourth week of July. Its 5 events close out with the Harvest Moon Local Food Festival in September and a November Holiday Bazaar.
Harvest Moon Local Food Festival
FestivalHeld each September at Soldotna Creek Park on the Kenai Peninsula, the Harvest Moon Local Food Festival vendors include those selling food grown, harvested or made in Alaska; medicinal/wellness/personal care products made from locally grown or wild-harvested ingredients; food trucks featuring local ingredients; and kitchen/garden items with practical purpose. The festival features live music, free kids' activities, a pie contest, food demonstrations, and the popular Fermentation Station. Vendors compete for Most Local and Most Festive awards.
Soldotna Holiday Bazaar
HolidayThe Soldotna Regional Sports Complex hosts the 34th annual Holiday Bazaar, held each November in Soldotna. Past years featured a variety of vendors displaying wares including hot sauces, quilts, furs, soaps and more. Booth spaces are approximately 8-foot by 8-foot and include one 6-foot table and two chairs, with limited electricity availability. Soldotna Progress Days
FestivalSoldotna Progress Days runs the fourth week of July, with events from Thursday through Saturday and a lead-in at the Wednesday Market. Vendors sell food and crafts drawn from across Alaska, alongside live music Thursday and Friday nights, a Saturday parade, a rodeo, a car show, a community BBQ, a Dutch oven cooking contest, and family activities including a petting zoo and pony rides. The celebration has run for over 60 years, marking the population boom that followed the Swanson River oil discovery.
Soldotna Saturday Farmers Market
FarmersEstablished in 1995 under the name Central Kenai Peninsula Farmers Market, Soldotna Saturday Farmers Market started as a venue for peninsula growers to show and sell locally grown fruits, vegetables, herbs, plants, eggs and honey. The market has expanded to include cottage foods and local artist/craftspersons. Over two dozen vendors and hundreds of visitors show up on a typical Saturday. Note: You must contact this organizer directly to apply—no application link or vendor information is available online.
Soldotna Wednesday Market
FarmersThe Soldotna Wednesday Market runs weekly from the first Wednesday in June through the last Wednesday in August, 11 AM to 6 PM. Started in 2007 with five vendors, it now hosts over 60 — food vendors, crafters, home-based businesses, and fresh Alaska-grown produce. An evening concert with a beer garden sponsored by the Soldotna Chamber of Commerce starts at 6 PM. Most vendors stay through it, though not all, so the concert crowd represents an optional extra selling window rather than a required one. The riverside setting with picnic tables draws both locals and summer visitors, making this a strong fit for vendors selling to the tourist season.
