The Market EP, a city-run artist and farmers market since 2011, sets up around San Jacinto Plaza on select Saturdays from March to September and on Third Thursdays in summer. That's 6 events, with Chalk the Block and the Dia de los Muertos Festival and Desfile in October, WinterFest downtown and the Upper Valley Artist & Farmers Market at Mesa Plaza.

Sidewalk chalk art competition, temporary interactive art installations, live dance/theatrical performances, live bands, art and food vendors. Dia de los Muertos Festival and Desfile
FestivalSignature festival of the El Paso Mexican American Cultural Center (MACC). Features 40+ parade groups (alebrijes, animals, live music, decorated floats), El Mercadito by The Market EP with ~50 artisan vendors and food trucks (11am-9pm). Free arts and cultural programming. Applications for parade participants, performers, artisan vendors, food trucks open in late summer.
El Paso WinterFest
HolidayEl Paso's WinterFest is a signature MCAD event in the Downtown Arts District running from November through January. The Market—a year-round Saturday farmers and arts market—relocates downtown for the festival season, bringing local artisans, farmers, food vendors, and live entertainment. Part of MCAD's three major annual festivals alongside Chalk the Block and DÃa de los Muertos.

Original arts/crafts, food vendors, regional agriculture, live entertainment. Vendors must reside within 100 mi of Union Plaza. 2026 cycles: Spring app Feb 3-Mar 27 (orientation Apr 9); Early Summer app Apr 13+. Required new-vendor orientation.

ArtisanEstablished in 2011, The Market EP operates year-round in downtown El Paso around San Jacinto Plaza, offering original arts and crafts, locally grown agricultural products, and live entertainment from local artists. Regular season runs select Saturdays; summer Third Thursday evening events are part of the Downtown Arts District's programming. Fall festivals—Chalk the Block, DÃa de los Muertos, WinterFest—rotate vendors through multiple downtown locations. All vendors must be local makers or growers (Texas tax ID required; New Mexico residents need Texas sales tax permit). Craft items must be handmade by the seller or household members. Food vendors operate under Texas Cottage Food Laws. Mandatory orientation for all new vendors.
