How the Season Ledger works
What it's for
The Season Ledger is the honest record of what you actually applied to, year after year. Every application you track — accepted, rejected, waitlisted, or still-pending — threads by year and by event so you can look back and see the shape of your season.
It's the retrospective counterpart to the Shortlist: Shortlist is what you're deciding on this month; Ledger is what you did last spring, last summer, three seasons ago.
Getting applications into the Ledger
The Ledger doesn't add applications on its own. Head to My Applications on your My Account page, click + Add, fill in the event and status, and hit Log application — every application you log there shows up here, grouped by year and event.
Each application carries: applied-on date, status (Applied / Accepted / Rejected / Waitlisted), deadline, booth fee, and an optional note.
How the year sections work
Applications group by the year of your applied-on date. Within each year, they group by event. If you applied to the same event twice in one year (a two-round jury, say), both rows appear under one event card, threaded in chronological order.
Applications with no applied-on date bucket into "Undated" at the bottom.
The summary at the top
Applications tracked — total count, with accepted/declined breakdown
Acceptance rate — accepted divided by (accepted + rejected). Waitlisted is deliberately excluded — it's an undecided state, not a rejection
Booth fees paid — sum of the fee field on applications marked accepted. Reflects money you actually committed
Seasons active — how many distinct years show up in your Ledger
Snapshotting cost scenarios
When you attach a cost scenario to an application (via My Applications), the scenario snapshots onto that row. Future edits to the scenario template don't retroactively rewrite past applications — the historical net stays true to what you were modeling when you applied.
Each application row shows the snapshotted "$X net" chip when a scenario is attached. Click the checkbox to the left of two applications and hit Compare to view the two snapshots side by side.
When an event disappears from the catalog
If an event you applied to gets removed from the catalog (organizer folded, event canceled long-term), your application row survives. The card tags it "event removed from catalog" and preserves the event name you saved at the time — so a year later, you still know what "Fremont Sunday Market · June 3" meant.
Batch-add to the Shortlist
Planning next season? Check the "Select" box next to any event group you want to reconsider. When one or more is selected, a strip appears at the top with a "Add to Shortlist" button. It respects the 3-event cap and skips anything already on your Shortlist.
Use this to seed your next Shortlist from what you did last year — successful events, promising rejections you want to reapply to, waitlisted ones worth trying again.
Clicking through to an event
If the event is still live in the catalog, its name in the event card is a link. Click through to see current dates, fees, deadlines, and whatever's changed since you last applied.
What the Ledger deliberately doesn't do
No "predicted acceptance" scoring. Every event is different; historical acceptance rates on the site as a whole don't predict yours
No cross-year "you've applied 3 times to this event" callout. The year grouping tells the story visually
No automatic status updates. When you get accepted or rejected, log it in My Applications — the Ledger reflects what you tracked
