Brookings Farmers Market runs Saturdays year-round in Brookings—May through October on the 300 block of 6th Ave downtown, November through April on the first and third Saturday at 5th Street Gym. Held each July in Pioneer Park, Brookings Summer Arts Festival is South Dakota's premier juried art festival drawing 175+ artists from across the nation across 15 disciplines — painting, sculpture, jewelry, ceramics, fiber, and more. Thirty-six gourmet and ethnic food booths plus 30+ artisan food vendors selling packaged goods and natural skin products round out the market. Live entertainment performs throughout the park. Held in Aberdeen each August, Brown County Fair is a week-long free-admission event drawing thousands of attendees from South Dakota and North Dakota. Two expo buildings host roughly 100 booths each, with additional outdoor and concession vendor spots—a mix ranging from home goods and jewelry to food vendors offering everything from fresh-cut fries to Indian tacos. Held in Custer State Park each September, the Buffalo Roundup Arts Festival runs alongside the annual roundup of more than 1,300 American bison—a spectacle designated "The Top Event in North America" by the American Bus Association. The three-day arts festival at the State Game Lodge features around 150 vendors selling handmade arts and crafts, plus food booths and live entertainment. Draws over 14,000 attendees.

Held in Vermillion in August, Clay County Fair is a free three-day event featuring livestock shows, 4-H and open-class exhibits, free live music, demolition derby, tractor pull, cornhole tournament, cornhole tournament, and vendors. Inside booth spaces ($50, 8'x10' with table, chairs, electricity included) require valid sales tax license; representatives must be present during posted hours. The Corn Palace Festival celebrates the annual redecoration of the World's Only Corn Palace in Mitchell, held in August. One of South Dakota's longest running annual events, it features carnival rides, food and specialty vendors, along with the locals bringing in their best produce to be judged. The festival carries on the traditions of bringing in the best names in entertainment to headline the event. The festival is setup from 5th–9th street on Main street. The event does limit vending of similar items, so apply early.

Held at Way Park on the corner of Mt. Rushmore and 4th Street in Custer, this Saturday farmers market runs June through October, offering produce, chickens, baked goods, and value-added goods.

Falls Park Farmers Market operates year-round near downtown Sioux Falls — a summer market at Falls Park (May–October) and a winter market indoors at Mosaic Arts and Events (November–April). Hot Springs Farmers Market runs Saturdays from mid-June through late September at Centennial Park. The market features local produce, value-added products, baked goods, and artisans alongside live music and a kid zone — a straightforward community farmers market with the full spread of local food vendors.

Running since 2005, Huron Farmers Market operates each Saturday from June through early October in Campbell Park. Expect 5–12 vendors selling in-season produce, baked goods, raw honey, farm-fresh eggs, local beef and lamb, handmade soap and body care products, canned goods, and handcrafted items. Community-focused market drawing shoppers who want locally grown and locally made goods.

Held in Huron on the SD State Fairgrounds, the 37th annual National Red Power Round Up is a three-day celebration of International Harvester, Steiger, and Case IH history drawing collectors and enthusiasts from across the country. Expect tractors, engines, trucks, equipment, household appliances, milking equipment, toy collections, and indoor vendor exhibits — some air-conditioned. The event includes a parade, auction, quilt show, and kids activities. Exhibitors must be current International Harvester Collectors Club members; pre-registration nets two free admission passes.
